Heat

We have been learning all about heat in Science. We melted chocolate and made some delicious Rice Krispie buns.

Rugs

 Rugs

We painted and decorated rugs. We added a woollen fringe to the ends.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

We took part in various events for Seachtain na Gaeilge. (Comórtas Dathúcháin, Tráth na gCeist, Ceilí agus Lá Glas). Pictured below are winners from Room 22. ☘☘☘

Electricity

In Science we have been learning about electricity. We made a simple circuit, doubled the power and added a switch. We also tested whether materials were conductors or insulators of electricity.

A Simple Circuit

The power from the battery lit the bulb.

Double the Power

The bulb powered by two batteries shone brighter.

Adding a Switch
When the switch was closed, the circuit was complete and the bulb lit.

When the switch was open, the circuit was broken and the bulb did not light.

Conductors of Electricity
Electricity flowed through the following items:

Coin

Key

Metal paper clip

Drink Can

Fork

Insulators of Electricity

Electricity did not flow through the following items:

Wooden fork

Glass bottle

Plastic paper clip

Plastic ruler

Rubber band

Paper

Banana

Volcanoes

In Geography we have been learning about how mountains are formed. We painted these explosive volcanoes.

World Book Day

📚WORLD BOOK DAY📚

We celebrated World Book Day on 2nd March. Pictured below are some of the pupils from Ms. Burns' class dressed up as their favourite characters.

Skeletons

Funny Bones

We have been learning about the human skeleton. Here are the skeletons we made using cotton buds.
